Mushroom
An unexpected bonus growing in the mulch. It's a Morel (morchella conica). Only the one but still nice to find.
Update on the tunnel, pleased with everything so far.

Planting Potatoes
First a pic of the daffodils, just because they look cheerful and it's been sunny and warm all day.
Then plant potatoes. This is the first time we've had a go at growing them no-dig. In short, raked the mulch back and dropped the seed spud into a hole. Sprinkled with blood, fish and bone and re-covered.
As an experiment half are under wood chips and half are under leaf mould.

Lotty Tunnel
Put a tunnel on the plot to extend and enhance the growing season. Beds inside are no dig, mulched with compost.
Built a bench from salvaged wood.

No Dig Allotment is taking shape
Still a fair way to go but the plot's looking good (probably only 20% left to cover).
An allotment neighbour enlightened me with his pearl of wisdom that no-dig gardening is lazy and only for idle gardeners. Haven't a clue how many barrow loads I've trundled up from the car park to date but I'd estimate it could maybe take another 150.
The most recent fresh green mulch is already turning brown.
