Controlling white rot

White rot fungus spores (sclerotia) are triggered into action by the presence of allicin. In theory spreading garlic powder gets the fungus growing but not finding a suitable host it dies before setting more spores.
Last year 25% of our bulbs were affected, this year 7%

Done, ready for an interim crop before planting up the same beds with onions and garlic again in autumn.
