Six weeks difference

Spring, at last

After a colder than usual spring things are finally starting to green up.

 Maincrop spuds are showing

Broad beans left and peas behind are good and the Daubenton's kale (netted) that was stripped by pigeons is making a superb comeback.

 .....then hit a root just as the shutter clicked

Still more to do but at least we're no longer walking through mud.

New Year Brassica Massacre

The wood pigeons are back and have taken a shine to our Daubenton's kale so it's time to reassemble the brassica arch. The plastic panels were originally intended to make cloches but for now they'll make good wind breaks.
